Just picked up this compilation from late last year put together by Andy Weatherall
"what that techno guy?" i hear you cry,but dont leave yet my rockist friends,for this is a mix made up of fifties rock n roll(Gene vincent,Link wray)Glam,Post punk(T Rex,The Fall)Proto goth /Industrial and a couple of choice cuts from the man himself,like "Feathers" which has been used on an advert recently(cant remember which).

The Frantic spiders were part of the short lived "Riot grrl" scene of the early Nineties along side such bands as Huggy bear and Blood sausage.An all girl band hailing from Exeter,this single was released on local label Hometown Atrocities
Intrestingly,in 2001 Hometown atrocities released a compilation of local bands from 1977-2000,one of which,Headless chickens featured a young Thom Yorke from the Radioheads ,from his time at Exeter Uni.

Im sure they were twelve when they first appeared and lets hope they never grow up.
The albums about 15 tracks in about 20 minutes,its loud,fast,brash and would gob on your shoes if you looked at it funny outside woolworths(or knife you in the spleen if the lyrics to "the kelly affair" are anything to go by). as this post has a theme im gonna put up

Zombie Zombie hail from Frenchland and make driving,Motorik,Krautrock hypno rumble and all the other words you'd associate with a band that sounds like Can.Their album"A land for Renegades is inspired by the film "Punishment park" (havent seen it,but might now).
Arpegiators wrestle each other for control of the wheel whilst strange,deformed Banshees howl at each other in the desert,just out of sight of the headlights.
